This Monday

My job

So, it's been my quest for the last two months or so to really push me getting promoted. Fortunately for me, everyone is quitting, so there are a lot of job openings. My boss, the VP of marking, said they'd make me product manager. Then he said assitant product manager. Then he said not until third quarter. Then he started giving me all the jobs of the product manager, and suggested we hire my replacement in tech support. Then he said we wouldn't hire my replacement, and I'd still be doing tech support 20% of the time.

And so on. The problem is, we are trying to turn a profit as a company, and so they don't want to hire anyone new because it increases cost. Basically, it's all up to the CFO to decide where the money goes.

So imagine my large amount of internal laughter when the CFO came up to me today and said, with a confused look on his face, "so, are you our new product manager?"

Sigh.

Did I mention he carries a coffee mug with him everywhere he goes? Like the boss in office space?
