Thou Shalt Be Baptized

Religion is a big deal to my Italian Catholic family. We're not that Catholic, but enough that stuff like marriage and baptisms matter. So, in order for us to be married in an Orthodox church, Nemanja had to get baptised. And since he was getting baptized, so did his sister. And in order to be his best man, Nemanja's friend Sean got baptized as well.

Welcome to marrying into my family. Where everyone has to be a religion or a culture. You can't be undecided in those categories.

So some of my family wanted to come to this occasion. Therefore, Nemanja's mom Mira threw a little party afterwards. Well, it was supposed to be a little party.

So we show up, and this is what we see. A few more people even showed up after this! I had three aunts, three uncles, a grandma and a cousin show up. Nemanja had friends and Serbian friends and family. Whew! Once we got in the church, everyone was excited to see how beautiful it was.
That is a picture of Nemaja's dad talking with my brother.

My family was so excited that the priest was willing to talk with us. My aunt and mom started asking the priest all these questions about Latin vs. Serbian and Orthodox religion and the Catholic religion. My family likes priests.

After the Ceremony, we took some pictures. Here's me, N, Ivana and Dinu. Interesting, Dinu was baptized Orthodox, which makes sense considering how close Moldova is to Russia.

And then we went back to Mira's house to party and eat lots of dessert.
